Surviving a Sandstorm

Dike ran down the road. His blue plastic sandals beat out a rhythm on the earth, raising orange-brown dust as he fled the thick red cloud rising up and chasing him down the path.

  1. Very vivid imagery! I love the description of his sandals being included in the piece. I have never experienced a dust storm and I hope I never do. It doesn’t sound even a little pleasant.
